I need $40

I know I'm a tad bit late here but it's partly my fault because I was too lazy to search for my own footage..
BUT here it is!

Merry Christmas to all

So for Christmas eve I went to my aunt's house with my family.
It was fun to see everyone again...SO MANY BABIES!!! O_O
My girlfriend finally got to meet a lot of them so that was nice haha.
We ate some good food, some desserts, and exchanged our secret santa gifts.
My sister gave me a pair of jeans! Which is good because I needed a new pair...damn Brokedancing keeps ripping mine up >:[
My Christmas shopping was pretty small this year. I only got my family, secret santa, and my girlfriend a gift because I'm really tight on money. BUT to all those that received a free shirt from me...MERRY CHRISTMAS you broke mothafuckas! lol ;]
Plus on top of that I received a huge ticket that I have to pay before the 1st so I'm struggling to get rid of that -_- If anyone has any donations or loans ;]
But anyway..overall besides the fat ticket I received on Christmas eve...it was overall a nice and chill break.
I got my mom a movie gift card...she better watch Avatar! O_O haha
Got my dad some new KIKZ! lol..Bought my dad a pair of Air Max 1's since he's a Nike head.
Bought my oldest sister a big ol' spoon for her kitchen...I don't know...it was on her wishlist and a KidRobot x Simpsons toy.
And bought my older sister TWO KidRobot x Simpsons toys. Yep.
Bought my girlfriend a bunch of random stuff that she selected at Ross since we both didn't want anything in particular and we just ended up picking up something we liked there hahaha
Also bought her some mace pepper spray lol just incase >.<

My parents gave me some money =]
My sister gave me a pair of jeans and a camera memory card...which is good because I really wanted one.
And my other sister gave me a flashdrive for my computer which is good because I also needed that as well.
Emily bought some stuff I picked at Ross like a crewneck and a t-shirt hahahaha wasn't too picky this year >.<
And got a dope Bob Marley shirt from my friend Alex...I OWE YOU!

Other than that, the stress continues to build up about that damn ticket but Christmas was very chill ^_^"

Till next time.

WINTER BREAK ON!

So I just finished my last final of Fall semester..officially on break until January 11th, 2010.
What to do???
Well...work for sure but other than that I really want to get some practice hours in and use this time to get better.
Needa stay motivated and focused on what I need to get better.
Sucks I don't have the screenprinting class anymore, I still have so many shirts I want to make =[
Maybe if I have time I'll take the textiles class next semester but I guess for now...Frank and Sons it is lol.
My sister found two kitties outside. So been pretty much playing with cats all the time until we give them away haha.
It's pretty annoying though because I can't use the bathroom or else I'll wake them up and they won't stop meowing. I NEEDA SHOWER!!!
Dang I still needa go Christmas shopping...got my dad's gift already I just hope it ships in time and I need to get the rest of my family something soon.
I miss my girlfriend.
I need to clean my room!!! Some crap in there isn't even mine...hate it when people make your room their storage -_-

I just got back from watching the long awaited film, "Avatar" and boy oh boy..words can't really describe how....good it was haha.

James Cameron has been my favorite director since I first watched T2 when I was like 2 or 3 years old. This was followed by Aliens, Terminator 1, Titanic, The Abyss and so forth which made him one of my all time favorite film makers.
When I heard he had a new project coming up involving aliens my first thought was...Aliens 5??? Hahaha but when I learned more info and saw the first cut of the trailer my excitement toned down but still this movie looked interesting.
Everyone was talking about how it was a breakthrough through digital and 3D film making but when I first saw the trailer...I thought...eh. I didn't liked the way the aliens looked but still the hype surrounded the film and I wanted to be proven wrong.
Judging by the trailer I already guessed the plot within the movie.
The story involves a pretty redundant and cliche formula that has a foreigner who embraces another's culture and learns to love it more than their own.
South Park poked at this and it was pretty much spot on.
We've seen this cycle with movies such as Dances with the Wolves, The Last Samurai, and Pocahantas but I suppose doing it with tribal aliens is a new concept that hasn't been done.
I came in the theater with no expectations so that way the hype wouldn't kill the mood for me and from start to finish the film grabbed me and reeled me in.
Avatar is probably one of the best films to come out in 2009. It definitely delivered and I do recommend this film to all.
You really have to watch the entire movie to appreciate the effects of the surroundings as well as the aliens.
Cameron puts a lot of emphasis on how everything is a life force.
You grow to like the aliens..at first I was still ehhhh but the leading lady became more and more attractive as the film went by. SMURF SEX!
Other than that I loved everything about the film: the music, the acting, the characters, the battle scenes, the effects, even the recyclable story.
If there's a movie to watch in theater before the year is over it is definitely Avatar.
Watching it in 3D was a bit of a downer though...some characters and objects randomly popping out was a bit distracting.
I think I'll probably watch it again in IMAX when I get the chance.
GO GO GO

OH! And how come this wasn't shown before Avatar?!?

Break life?

Dang what a b-boy filled weekend...and while I have to study for finals?!?! Ayaaaa! -___-
Saturday I went to the "Rock the Beach" jam; haven't entered a jam for a long while but my crew mates decided to go so I figure why not.
Haven't practiced since Monday because I was cramming for next week's finals so hopefully my body hadn't slowed down during that time.
Went with Tony, Gary, and Jon. It was just us four since everyone else was busy. It was a 5 on 5 competition but we just figured, fuck it haha.
Under questionable circumstances the judges voted against us in the Top 16.
I'm not mad because we were just being ourselves and we like taking chances.
Not gonna sweat certain peeps because they ain't worth my time.
All you do is run your mouth.
I still had a fun time. It was dope to see a lot of crews improving, especially some new crews. Many represented hard and I feel it doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you do your best.
Some people like to play it safe and just do the basics but I give much respect to those who actually make an effort to really execute more difficult moves.
I'll post the Top 16 battle when I get it.

And as for today!
The long awaited event, "He Got Game" finally came through. Everything went pretty smooth. It's just a weekly session but this time we organized a few match ups for people to see. No competition; just a nice jam with some local b-boys representing.
I was a judge for the high school battle and hosting the rest of the event.
Hosting is a pretty fun job but by the end of the night my throat was pretty sore haha.
Much respect to all the b-boys that battled today! Everyone represented and I had a great time watching.
We're going to try to make this an annual thing so be ready for the next one ;]

Other than that I still gotta study. Last week of school then Winter Break!!! ^_^
Hopefully I get some more practice time in and enter more events in the future.
But for now I'm gonna take my time to get better.

- SOME FOOTAGE - (More coming soon)
High School Exhibition Battle - Arcadia vs. Eagle Rock

A very dope battle showcasing some upcoming b-boys. I personally thought that both sides did extremely well and really represented. The battle never felt one sided because each side brought something hard. Judging this battle was tough but no doubt both sides really came with it. Much respect.
And we move over to the 1 on 1's that are currently posted.

Gary vs. Aaron.

Tony vs. Sung

Austin vs. Socheat

Ruben vs. Jet Li

Matt Tran vs. Robert

HE GOT GAME?

YEAH FUCKING CUTE! O_O

Anyway. I am back once again reporting to you...from my room.
Bored..should be sleeping but hey who the hell does that anymore.
Car registration stickers still have not come...so far I've been hitching rides with my friends or my family. Causes a hassle and I hate asking for rides but how else will I get to work or school? The bus? Train? HELL NAH FOO!
This is one of the reasons why I hate the DMV...cause they always cause problems and take so friggin' long! I wanna punch em in the mouth!
How was everybody's Thanksgiving? Hope everyone had a good time ;] Eat lots of turkey and what not...now time to burn it all off... O_O
Ugh feeling the stress grow bigger...this and that. School, work, money, friggin' DMV; they all build up to give me a headache.
I think I drink too much soda..I needa cut back on that shit. Been addicted to that stuff since I was a kid. I did go on a long break from it but somewhere along the line I broke! My New Year's resolution was to hold off until February 2010...PSSSSSSSSHHHH yeah right, it's only December..imagine if I did hold off until now...that means I'd still be 2 months away from tasting that black liquid gold!!!
No! NOO! I'll cut back but not completely...every once and while should be okay ^_^
Overdraft fees are gay...FUCKING HATE OVERDRAFT FEES! I don't even have any money to stop them from adding that shit up. Fucking website charged the wrong card so now I got that shit on my shoulders. Uuuuuggghhhh.
Finals are coming up soon and this carless situation makes it hard to go to class since I always have to wonder how I'm going to get home from school.
Haven't driven my car since last Tuesday and it feels like forever. It's amazing how much money you save from gas though...hurry the fuck up DMV.
Re-injured my side once again on a Sunday practice. Everything was going well and I felt fine so I figure why not try my crickets again and BAM! Right after I felt the sting in my side and found it hard to breathe. I no longer am gonna do that move because no matter how much I heal or wait...even if I do 2 or 3 soft ones...the pain comes right back...So crickets you are officially retired.
Sucks how injuries can really limit your skills...yeah fuck injuries. Oh well plenty of other moves to pursue..gotta stay up!!!
I need a haircut...SOMEONE WANNA GIMME A HAIRCUT!?

So what's the real purpose behind this post? To vent about my feelings and current predicaments? Perhaps...NO.

THIS! My friends is the real reason behind my post! Behold with your very own eyes...the long awaited event..."HE GOT GAME!!!!"
So uh? Is it a jam or a BBQ? This is not a competition...that doesn't mean it's not a jam! A jam doesn't have to be a competition or whatever the fuck you "B-BOYS" do nowadays. This is an event mainly for the local scene and those that come to Yosemite Sunday sessions. It's pretty much gonna be the same thing but we're going to have a few organized battles for everyone's entertainment. Should be fun and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there :] Good luck to all b-boys!
There's open session and open call outs during the event. Hit me up if you have any questions..
Um!

BYE!

Happy Turkey Day + Ninja Assassin!

First of all I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!!!
Eat up, sleep and repeat! KILL THEM TURKEYS!
After today I'm going to go on a diet haha.
I am thankful for:
1. Family
2. Friends
3. My girlfriend. WAH AI NI! O_O
Yaaay.

And..
I just watched Ninja Assassin last night with a few friends and I came in pretty excited because I love ninjas and assassins lol.
Korean popstar Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain! stars as an orphan adopted by a Japanese ninja clan who raises kids to become assassins.
Somewhere along the line some government agents stumble upon this secret and find out governments use the ninjas for assassinations.
Rain turns against his clan after refusing to kill an innocent victim...almost like Batman Begins...actually this movie is a lot like Batman Begins just minus the Batman and Rain actually kills people..bad people though.
I didn't expect much of a story nor substance within the film; I just wanted to see some ass blood and guts! And the film delivered in that department.
The opening sequence satisfied my expectations as to what kind of violence this movie was going to offer. A fun cameo by Sung Kang was made as well.
After that the movie slowed down a bit; introducing Rain in a brief scene...though I feel they could have introduced him in a better fashion *shrug*
The film encounters a series of flashbacks showing Rain's strict training as a child to a teen and his encounter with an orphan girl who wishes to escape.
This pretty much leads to his confrontation with his Master played by Sho Kosugi who in my opinion was the most badass motherfucker in the entire movie and his clan.
If you have no idea who Sho Kosugi is...he's like one of the pioneers of ninja movies in the 80's. I grew up watching a lot of his films..

Revenge of the Ninja!
Anyway back to the topic; then Rain teams up with Europol agent Mika(Naomie Harris, same girl who played Selena in 28 Weeks Later!) and they go on the run after the clan hunts them down.
This is your basic revenge type flick with ninjas. The acting was pretty bad, the story wasn't that engaging, and there wasn't any development between the characters.
The best aspect of the film were the fight scenes and even those were hard to keep up on because the direction was very close, shaky, and too flashy to tell what's going on. I suppose the director McTeigue(V for Vendetta) wanted to show how sneaky and fast the ninjas were but I feel that, that is never a good way to film a fight scene. The fight scenes were like Bourne/Batman Begins type fights...
But do prepare for lots of gore, slicing and dicing. The film does not fail in that department...if you want to know how gory this film really is just watch the redband trailer.

Lilou vs. Cloud

Clear case of tricks vs. style.
As much as I wanted Cloud to win I guess Lilou came through with more solid blowups but Cloud's creative input is on a level I cannot comprehend...so original; definitely one of my favorites ever since I started dancing.
And if you see this guy in person it's even more crazy.
I honestly think it could have went either way but oh well congrats to two wins on Lilou.
They should start scouting for some new blood; they're recycling b-boys over and over haha.

and to those people who kept shouting "LILOU!"...they need to shut the fuck up!

-EDIT-
This is why I stay off the bboyworld forums..

CUZ I SPIT HOT FIYAH!

Bangs is a 19 year old rap artist born in North Khartoum, Sudan. At the age of 11, he moved to Egypt with his family after his Father married another wife. He spent two years there before coming to Australia in 2003.

He has been writing rap, hip hop and pop since settling in Melbourne in 2004.

“Music is my wife”, Bangs sang in a live jam recently. He writes about life, love and hope and his music grows with him till the end of life.

He recorded his first demo “Girlfriend” in 2005 with DJ Wasabi in Collingwood, then started to lay down tracks in his home studio.

In July 2008, he recorded his first professional album at Gateway Living Music Studios, titled “Hard to be Up”. Produced by John Favaro and Paul Last name, it features the new hit single “Take U to Da Movies”.

The name “Hard To Be Up” means that he worked so hard to put the songs together to make the album.

He is constantly stretching his creative abilities, and is already working on his next album, with the working title “Am Still Moving On”.

Halloween

So my Halloween didn't turn out so bad.
Everything was just last minute. I had no idea what to do that night but overall it turned out cool.
My original costume didn't happen because my lazy procrastination skills -_- so I just wore a clown mask I bought last year. It was alllll right haha.
My original concept was to be a bank robber from the 1995 film Dead Presidents.
*shrug* ANYWAY
I just went to my friend's girlfriend's house with some friends and chilled. Ate BBQ and later went Trick or Treatin'
YEAH! TAKE YO SHIT! lol
By the time we finished it wasn't too late but I was tired from all that walking and screaming.
I was supposed to go to my homie Matt's pad but I just felt too tired to drive that far. MY BAD MATT! Are you mad at me?! I'LL BUY YOU YOGURT! O_O
Anyway and that was pretty much it.

YOU CAN'T SEE ME!

PROM!!

On another note. I'm finally get around to making my designs come to life!

My first run are prototypes and a few may not have been printed to perfection but I haven't printed anything since high school so sure I'm a bit rusty hahaha. But I'm getting back into it and have plenty more to make. Yippee-AH-KAH-YAY MOTHAFUCKA!
*no biting please*

SAAAAYAH!

A DAY WITH KITTIES!

So a few weeks ago my sisters found a litter of kitties hiding in our garage.
The mama cat guarded them but we finally got around to taking them and giving them a better home.
So far two of the cats have been adopted and the last one is still up for grabs...I think but I think people are already trying to get it...so yeah!
BUT IN THE MEAN TIME! WE'RE GOING TO PLAY WITH THEM AS MUCH AS WE CAN!

LOOK AT THEIR FACES!!!!

I call the Black one Ninja, Bagheera, Batman.
I call the middle one Dopey cause she sleeps a lot.
And I call the last one the Laughing Hyena cause she has spots on her haha.

LOOK AT THEIR LITTLE TAILS!!! O_O

They're funny!

My sister's boyfriend with a fetus growing out of his neck!

HE GOT CATS COMING OUT FROM EVERYWHERE!!!

NINJA ASSASSIN!!!

Chocolate? THIS IS DOODOO BABY!

Yeah pretty FUCKING CUTE HUH!??!

Anyway yeah that's what I mostly did today besides work is just play with kittens hahaha.
Besides that! I friggin' injured myself AGAIN! It's ridiculous!
I feel like I say that a lot but fuckin' it just happens!
Mainly do from Breakin'. Every time I try to do a stab related move such as airchairs or crickets/jackhammers I injure my side again.
I want to take a break to let it heal but at the same time I feel like I can't do anything else.
I feel like I'm gaining weight and getting fatter from not being able to session or train. I wish this injury would fuckin' heal up already but I know it's going to take a while especially if I keep re-injuring it. Friggin' sucks!
I'm pretty sure it's bruised ribs...it feels a little better but I know it needs a lot more rest. I've been icing it and heating it and applying Icy Hot whenever I can. I can breathe fine and do a few things but I know I can't go all out or else it begins to ache again.
If anyone has any tips or anything to help it heal faster or FIGHT THE PAIN! Don't be shy to let me know!! ;]

And that's the way the cookie crumbles!

PEACE IM OUTTA HERE!

Where the Wild Things Are

I saw this movie last night with my girlfriend. I didn't really know what to expect from a movie that is being adapted from a 37 page children's book but the cinematography and costumes looked amazing from the trailer.
I actually loved the book as a child and read it frequently so I did have high hopes for the film...I just didn't know what to expect from it.
The writers had to work with a small book and adapt it to a feature length movie...which means a lot of add-ons to the story...which might be good or bad.
Now a lot of people are going to have mixed reviews about the film and I don't blame them. After walking out of the theater I contemplated to myself if I liked the film because it was actually a good movie or because of the hype surrounding the film because of how good the book was.
First and foremost the movie does not beat the book.
The film adds many more emotional elements through the monsters' personalities and with the boy.
Spike Jonze really goes in-depth through of the imagination of a child but at the same time the dark tones of the film make me wonder if this film was made for children or for adults?
The movie lasted about an hour and 30 minutes but in all honestly it felt like a two hour movie that didn't really have a real plot but analyzed the emotional issues the boy Max and the monsters go through. The monsters in my opinion are components of Max's personality and family because each monster has a distinct feature that makes one different from each other. The film is an on-going struggle of how Max wants to make the monsters happy but the monsters each want something different so this internally shows Max is struggling to find a balance within himself about what truly makes him happy as well.
Basically the film is about Max's journey about self-discovery through his own creative imagination. But his imagination is something he cannot control as he makes himself their leader and finds out that things will not always go the way he wants. He discovers that the wild things' emotional reactions and outbursts reflect his own actions and he discovers a lesson about himself and how he treats others, specifically his mother.
Now the message is a deep one but does that make up for a good movie? All based upon the viewer's opinion. I for one was waiting for the film's conclusion because it felt like it was dragging on with no real purpose other than the one stated above. But after analyzing the film's elements and themes, it did teach the value of a child's imagination as well as learning the responsibilities of growing up.
I did reflect Max's personality when I was a kid, running around and screaming but at the same time I grew annoyed of his behavior.
Pretty much if you're a fan of the book then go ahead and check it out. If you've never read the book and you're going to watch it then be prepared for some random shit.
This film seems to be intended for the more older and mature kids. I highly doubt 5 year old children will be studying the emotional aspects of a bunch of monsters. They will most likely be amazed at the outstanding costumes of the wild things but other than that will probably fall asleep an hour into the movie.
I probably will not watch this movie again but REMEMBER that does not mean it's a bad movie but I guess I had different tastes and expected something different...
Some may find this movie amazing and others may find it a waste of time. To each their own...just don't believe the hype and like it for your own reasons.
The soundtrack is pretty dope too.

I like this song.

Ima give this film a 6/10.

Oh yeah! And I also learned if your child runs away then comes back home just feed him soup and chocolate cake and everything will be better -_-

Paycheck - Overdraft Fees + Pulled over - Speeding Ticket = TODAY SUCKED

So today was a pretty badgood day...I mean some good stuff happened but at the same time some bad stuff happened along with it...more bad stuff.
Went to work and finally got my paycheck!!!
Haven't gotten paid since September 10 so I was in dire need of some cash since I've been flat broke for a while.
I really need to learn how to save my money but when you only get paid once a month and you don't have any other income to add to your account it's hard to save money.
Most of my money goes to gas and food. Gas to travel to work, school, and practice.
Had to buy books for school and I didn't even get them all -_-
So since I was broke I had to use my debit card to get gas to get to work and I went minus in my account which led to overdraft fees AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH!
I knew it was going to screw me over and make me get less than what I earned.
It came up to -100 I had to pay off so there goes a bill off my payment. Now I gotta wait for the rest of the money to transfer and the fucking bank says it's delayed for some stupid reason. Uuuuuugggh.
So that alone made me mad. So in a rage I decided to press the gas pedal in my car a little harder while heading home from work.
Suddenly I see a red and blue light flashing behind me.
...Motherfucker...is the first word that popped into my head when I saw the lights. It was a cop. He didn't sound his siren so I wasn't sure if he was after me and right when that thought passed...his siren went off. I pulled to the right and he approached saying I was speeding in a 35 mph street(La Brea). I think I was going 45 mph then he added my tail light was broken...that I actually had no idea about.
I stay cool and just add "sir" to the end of every sentence. He goes back to motorcycle for 10 minutes and comes back.
"All right I'm going to give you a warning on the speeding but I have to give you a ticket for the tail light. It's not a fine and doesn't go on your record but you have to get it fixed."
SO! I got off lucky but still! What a day!
Missed practice cause I got off work late...still injured anyway. I'm pretty sure my ribs are bruised..shit's pretty annoying. It sucks cause there's nothing I can really do to speed up the healing process...just rest when I can and let it heal as time goes by.
Sucks because I have to rest between practices and even when I'm at practice I feel like I can't go all out cause the pain begins to ache more. Shit's whack son!
But when I do practice...I still try to practice all out...
IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW MANY TIMES YOU PRACTICE! IT'S ABOUT HOW HARD YOU PRACTICE!
So when you get the chance to practice...practice hard!....and do try to make the time to practice! You can always find a time to practice. If a person is dedicated enough they can always find the time to pursue their passion.
Unless you're just dickin' around *shrug*

ANYWAY! Didn't get a haircut today either!
That means Emily won't want to see me..AIIIIIIIIGO!
That being said I haven't seen Emily in a long while...well if you're reading this we should totally hang out!

...THE KID WAS IN THE ATTIC!!! ULTIMATE TWIST!!!

Let's start dancing at Renaissance again...that added some paper to my pockets...lol

Late.

Side injury Returns!

So I re-injured my side from an accidental injury that occurred about three weeks ago.
I'm pretty mad about how I got my injury the first time...kinda funny story but basically my friends and I sometimes make fun of Ichigeki crew and go crazy and I went a little bit overboard and jumped back landing on my back/side...and right there I felt a slight pain in my side area...kinda near my ribs.
It's a sore feeling and hurts to move it when I attempt certain moves.
I rested it for about three days after and it kind of went away but there's always a slight pain when I dance.
So it never went away completely but enough to tolerate the pain. I went on with my regular work and training schedule and it seemed fine, I was hoping it'd just heal through time.
But up until Monday session that's when the pain started to come back pretty bad.
Then I sessioned Wednesday and it came back again.
So now I'm going to take an official break from Breakin' until...Monday? Wednesday? I hope that's enough time but I'm just curious as to what kind of injury it is.
I don't know if I pulled something or if I bruised a rib or something...these are suggestions given to me by my friends. I don't think it's that serious to concern a doctor but I guess a few days off are inevitable. Don't wanna make the pain anymore worse than it already is...you only got one body.
But other than that training was going pretty well. Learning some new things here and there and going to White Lotus again on a weekly basis. Refreshing my flips and gaining/learning some more.
But until then it's time to rest. Sadly it's easier said than done since my job requires me to be doing physical things =[
When I'm not sessioning, I'm teaching martial arts and when I'm not doing martial arts I'm Breakin' hahaha. But when I'm not doing either of these hobbies I feel so empty so I guess it's something to put up with.

Hope to get paid soon...I'm struggling so bad for money it's not even funny.
*Sad face*

Happy October!

Here's to a new month! OCTOBER!
Just got back from the midnight showing of Zombieland.

I've been looking forward to this movie for a while so I pretty psyched to watch it.
Overall the movie was satisfying to my tastes. I enjoyed the funny bits between the developing characters. I do wish there were more scenes of killing zombies and what not buuuut oh well I guess this movie was more focused on the characters and their stories rather than just another splatter fest but the last segment does deliver =]
The leading protagonist just seemed like another Michael Cera...might as well have gotten Michael Cera to do the part but ooooh well haha.
Woody Harrelson was born to play this part. He easily comes off as a badass and delivered to my satisfaction.
The cameo was funniest bit in the movie. JUST WATCH IT AND YOU'LL SEE ^_^
But yes a good watch. I'd recommend it to all those zombie fanatics out there ;]

Anyhoo my back is friggin' sore from Wednesday's practice.
I went to White Lotus..a place I haven't been to in ages. Just been busy with work, school, and had to readjust myself to hard floor practices. Not only that but the drive is pretty long to. Traveling from LA to Northridge can add up to the gas mileage...not only that but gotta pay 5 bucks as well to practice.
BUT ANYWAY! Went there and tried to refresh my flips..felt like I haven't done em in a while and some are a bit rusty. Hopefully I can make it again to practice them more...times are getting more busy -_-
Practicing some new stuff that I can hopefully transition to the floor soon. Needa go back there soon but for now I think I'm going to rest my back until Sunday session.

Hmm I wonder what's going on for Halloween. Ideas about what to be...any suggestions??

Till next time ;]

KOGI?!

Today was quite interesting..
Woke up and left to work at 8:30 am since I had to be there at 9:30.
I thought I'd get there in a jiffy but it turns out there was super duper traffic on the 110. The most ridiculous jam I've ever been in.
I was sitting in my car for about 2 1/2 hours because of some dumbass cement truck that flipped over -_-
So got to work late and everything was pretty much done with. Felt bad but they told me not to worry about it. I just helped around with other things.
I got to finally try Kogi's..turns out one of my dad's student's parents is one of the owners of the franchise so the truck came to my work. YAY FOR NO CHASING!

Hmmm what'd I think of the tacos!?
Pretty darn good I'd say but on the real you guys waaaay overhype it too much. I mean it's good but you guys gotta chill out with that shit. Too much hype kills...
Then drove home and went to J-Town with Mike, Peter, and Tim.
Every time I wanna check out the shoe store in Lil Tokyo it's always friggin' closed!!! Second time I wanna check it out and I just missed it!
I saw the shoes I wanted still there so that's good. I just hope they're still on sale and they haven't rose the price. Needa conserve the money and wait till my next paycheck. Then hopefully I can get a pair.
Ate at Crane afterwards...haven't eaten there in ages. Filled me up good...maybe too much because right after I had to take the most violent poop...O_O
Then came home and I am done for the day.
Now practice tomorrow...everyone should go...if you still wanna be in the crew. HAHAHA jk...O_O lol

ZOMBIELAND!!! ONE MORE WEEK!!! MIDNIGHT SHOWING!?!?? I DO BELIEVE SO!!! WEAR A FUCKING ZOMBIE SHIRT!?? HELL YEAH!!! KILL KILL KILL KILL!!!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Didn't see that much hype around this film.
All I knew is that it was based off a book I read as a child but forgot about it in later years and that Bill Hader was the lead.
I watched this movie yesterday and let me tell you...I was entertained and laughing from start to finish.
First off the film had a great cast from Bill Hader; I'm glad this guy finally got a leading role in a movie(even if it doesn't even show his face) cause this guy doesn't receive enough credit for his talents. Anna Faris...I've always liked her since Scary Movie 1 just cause she's attractive but seems like a goofball and isn't afraid of showing it haha.
James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris..., MR. T! Benjamin Bratt, and so on.
Go watch it! And don't compare it to Up...they're completely different movies.
But in the long run...Up was a better movie but this was a better comedy cause I laughed more times in this than Up.
...YEAH!

"Strawberry's my favorite!"
"Let's rock his car back and forth!"
"GUMMY BEARS?!"
"My chest hairs are tingling!"
"AVOCADO!"
"I'm finally contributing to society!!!!"
"FOUR-EYES, FOUR-EYES! YOU NEED GLASSES TO SEE!"

Plenty more lines to remember ^_^

Ow.

So yesterday I went to practice and fell on my side on my back.
After that it felt sorta like I had the wind knocked out of me and almost immedietely my side became sore and felt like cramp in my side.
I tried to stretch it out but it was still hurting..even when I took deep breaths it hurt.
Haven't injured myself in a while; just minor bruises and what not but nothing to keep me from actually dancing.
I can tolerate the pain but it just bothers me when I do something active...so I guess I'll take a small break or practice more easy things.
Better to rest it then bother it..hopefully by Sunday it'll be better.
Currently at work...
There's a jam today...FOTEEEN DOLLAS!? lol
I was actually planning on attending but since I'm injured and I'm not even battling what's the point of spending 14 hard earned dollars?
Next jam I'll hit up for sure.
A lot of people ask me when I'm gonna battle again at a jam and I'll tell you what I told them, "....FUCK YOU!"
Lol but in all honestly I'll enter when I feel ready. A lot of people just enter for the hell of it. It's understandable they want to have fun and see how far they can get but I don't feel comfortable entering a competition when I'm not ready. My team or partner might be working hard and really want to get far in the event so I feel it's every member's responsibility to uphold their skills when it comes to competing. If you have any doubts in your mind; I don't want you to walk through that door...Yeeah been watching Friday Night Lights, big whoop wanna fight about it?
So yeah but besides battling; I'm still actively practicing...until yesterday *slaps head* D'OH! HEAL HEAL HEAL! O_O
So I think ima go to Tran's house today...
WES MANTOOTH!

Yeee hit me up if you want to join this party...BAM!
I wanna make more shirts >.<

Back on the grind..

So! I can tell my summer is over since school has started.
Let's recap on what I did during my summer break...
I basically just spent my time working, practicing, and hanging out with the mrs. and my friends. Even though I didn't really do anything crazy over the summer I still had a good time just doing the stuff I love to do which is named above.
Perhaps next time I get a break I should plan something more adventurous but I enjoyed the chill time off from school.
I guess I'll do a quick and short recap over my summer events:
1. Got 2nd place -_- in the Kollaboration B-boy Battles..it was still a fun event because we got in for free and got to enjoy the rest of the show. Of course I wish the results were different buuuut this pushes me to train harder.
2. Attended AX and even though it wasn't has fun as the past years it was still a cool event to attend. Dressed up as the ghetto Hulk and messed around with my buddies at the dances...SMOKIN' FOOS! lol
3. Congrats to Ruben and Matt on getting into Zombie Hunterz. Work hard..tis only the beginning!!!
4. Went to the beach a few times with the homies and the mrs. Had a fun time.
Here's some pics..

I didn't know they took a picture of me...STALKER status...

Yes...YES YES YES!

WE MADE HIM INTO A BEAUTIFUL MERMAN!!!
5. Attended the 2nd day of Freestyle Session...yeah.
Ummmmmm!! I'm sure I did more I just don't really recall a lot of it. A lot of chillin', watching movies, working, and dancing...but you don't wanna hear all that! So yeah ;]

All though school has started I still hope to keep up my session schedule but so far it's been physically exhausting to school it, work it, and practice it.
Back on the daily grind..
Since Monday I've gotten up every day at 8 am and boy does it leave me tired when I get out of class. I guess I'm still struggling to sleep early and get up early.
So far I haven't come that late to class so I'm hoping to keep that up.
Today I woke up at 8 am...had to move two cars, got gas, went to class. Only like 5 minutes late cause it was hard to find the building -_-
I can already tell this class(Theater Arts) was going to be boring. I took Theater Arts 7B and I liked that class because it discussed modern film history and we watched a lot of dope movies like Yojimbo, Once Upon A Time in the West, Raging Bull, and so on.
Now I'm taking 7A and I found myself falling asleep during the teacher's lecture and his short old movies...hopefully later on it'll intrigue me more and we can watch better movies...but yeah...
So got out of that class...got home and ate a small lunch. I already felt tired so I took a short nap and went to work.
Got there early so I did a small workout before class. Helped and taught three classes from 5-8 and then headed home.
I was already more exhausted but right when I got home I changed and waited for Mike and Barry to go to session.
Headed to practice and got there at about...9:40? Sessioned until 11:30 and we chilled for a little bit at In-N-Out and now I'm home.
Tired and should be sleeping since I have to wake up at 8 again tomorrow...buuuut I think I can manage.
Anyway here's to a good year and hope to see y'all soon!

Later.

A look in the past!

I accidentally stumbled upon this music video on youtube and it brought back so many memories when I was a starting b-boy.
I remember seeing this music video when I was in...7th grade or 8th grade and just became addicted to it. At first the dancing caught my attention but as I continued to watch the video I was amazed by the vivid short story and feel almost every artist out there share the same struggle between their passions, growing up, etc.
To this day this music video remains one of my favorites because it stays true to the stories many artists go through and I can always relate to it.

Freestyle Session x Inglorious Basterds

So this passed Sunday I attended the annual event, Freestyle Session in downtown LA.
I did not attend the first day because usually those are just for the people wanting to battle in the prelims and since I was not entering I just decided to watch the Top 16 the following day.
So I rode with Mike and we get there around 1ish. Compared to FSS10 the venue was a lot smaller. We came in and watched a few cyphers but mainly waited for the battles to start. Got a pretty dope spot where I could see everything.
When I heard about the Top 16 I was pretty disappointed. A lot of no shows came up. I was so psyched to see Jinjo and Rivers come around but they ended up not coming at all...FUCKING GOOKS! ^_^ THAT'S AN ANGRY ASIAN FACE FOR YOU!
The Top 16 crew list was eh...I don't know how some crews managed to get through the next round but I guess the majority of crews that entered didn't do well during the prelims..*shrug* I can't say much because I didn't attend first day.
But sources tell me 1st day was pretty lame.
Real treat was seeing Funky Masons and Hustle Kids..dope crews. Muh fuckin' Kleju...is short!
Top 8 battles were better because each crew was pretty nasty.
Killafornia vs. Funky Masons was fuckin' craaazy. Remind is still on his shit.
Anyway just chilled most of the jam, watched the battles, bought some FOOOOOOOAAAAMMMMM HATS!!! cause I'm such a beeeeeeeeeee-boy and went after to JJ's! O_O
Highlights of the jam: Jalen vs. Lil Demon...fuckin' sick ass battle. Them kids are unnecessarily good..especially Lil Demon. Like 9 rounds non stop, pure power..amazing.
Do Knock's backflip...if you were there...you know.
Funky Masons, Hustle Kids, Formosa Crew was pretty dope.
Squadron came with it, nasty lineup. Props to them for taking it this year...once again USA prevails at FSS...

ANYWAY! After the jam..me, Mike, and Blaine went to JJ's and Nes, Krys, Tony and Vanessa met up with us. Good laughs HAHAHA O_O
Then we watched Inglorious Basterds...

a movie I've been waiting to see for a while.
AND boy let me tell you! It was pretty darn dope.
First of all let me just say..you must be a fan of Quentin Tarantino movies to enjoy a movie such as this. If you're not into heavy dialogue then don't watch it.
I saw two fat guys in front of me snoozin' away during the movie...
What can you expect from a QT movie..of course there's going to be intriguing dialogue that reveals characters' backgrounds within 5 minutes of their screen time than other full length movies that fail to do so.
Brad Pitt was a funny and enjoyable character but Christoph Waltz stole the show as the leading villain. I got goosebumps during his scenes because he was somewhat of a creepy individual but somehow hides his devious traits.
He's probably my favorite character from the movie...
Overall an enjoyable experience with lots of subtle humor thrown in here and there. If you complain it's boring then you're not listening...LISTEN TO THE MUSIC! >.>

..Yeah.

DISTRICT 9

So I just watched District 9 and I went in with mixed feelings about what to expect from this movie.
First and foremost let me just say that this was movie was awesome! I heard a lot of mixed reviews surrounding the film; some saying it was amazing and others stating the opposite.
I didn’t want to hype myself up and expect too much from this film because I personally feel once you do that...the movie will never satisfy your high standards.
The first half of the film opens up like a documentary but naturally transitions into a feature film.
The movie is centered on actor, Sharlto Copley who in my opinion did a tremendous job portraying his character Wikus Van De Merwe. He conveyed so many emotions throughout the film and developed his character from being a wimp to a believable badass. It’s also dope because this is his first feature film...
DO NOT expect a typical aliens trying to take over the world plot. The story is unique and offers a different perspective as to what humans would really do if aliens encountered our world.
While the first half is interesting it did move slowly but it really built up to the second half of the movie where the action grew bigger and bigger.
The CGI was amazing and the designs of the aliens were vivid and creative. The aliens also conveyed many emotions that you sympathize for their cause.
The alien weapons were dope as hell especially the Half Life gravity gun...the action scenes made me yell "OOOH!!!" repeatedly. I like the scene where the guy exploded..
While I was somewhat disappointed by the ending I was still satisfied with the outcome. The conclusion was very open ended and I wouldn’t be surprised if a sequel was in the works because I feel there could have been more to explain.
But overall it was a very enjoyable movie and probably one of the best summer films to come out in 2009.

Watch it.

WHERE IS YO MASTA!

So what's been going on lately?
Pretty much the routine cycle of work, practice, and hanging out with the homies and ladyfriend. Sometimes I wish it could stay like that buuuut school draws closer as the days go by =[
I want to practice as much as I can before school starts because I know once it does it's going to take up more of my time. Of course I'm still going to find time to practice but just not as much time..
Oh well...it comes with the struggle.
I'm actually pretty excited for Freestyle Session 12th Anniversary...

It's actually the 11th FSS buuuut whatever. It's coming fast and I just saw the crew list and dang does it look promising. Crews from Korea, France, Poland, etc. all coming down.
I'm only attending 2nd day because of budget issues and I'm not battling so I'm just gonna watch the battles. Hope it's gonna be ill.
Time to buy lots of FOOOOOOOOOOOAM HATS!!! and....SPPPPIIIIIINNNNNNN BEEEEANIES!!!...and BEEEEEEEEE-BOY OR DIIIIIIIIEEEEEE SHHHIIIIIRTS! hahaha
Here's a highlight of last year's event.

Dang I wanna get more shirts made..so many ideas floating around in my head!!!
Somebody pay me lol

..Not only that but shoes...I've been wanting to buy more shoes.
My slice Ruben got me into Air Max 1's..been looking around for more!!!
and VAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!

Oh yeah and to my fellow hunters of Zombies...

Get yours.

NEW SN

I think my screen name got hacked because my friend sent me a link which I clicked because I'm so naive T_T
Later on my friend Peter told me I sent him a link and he clicked on it even though I wasn't online the whole day so I knew my sn had been compromised!
So I created a better sn...one faster, stronger, harder, better...we have the technology...but I don't want to spend a lot of money...lol
My new sn = "yongMoneylol"

WHERE YOU BEEN BITCH?!?!

So AX was the past week; I attended for three days(Fri, Sat, and Sunday).
It was cool but for some odd reason it didn't feel as fun or entertaining as last year's.
Could've been because the convention closed at 12 instead of being open 24 hours or maybe it was because there weren't as many people staying over...but yeah for some reason it just didn't seem as fun I guess.
My costume was made last minute and quite possibly the most ghetto costume you could possibly imagine. I was the Hulk for AX and if you want to get a basic premise of what my costume looked like: Hulk mask, green hoody, hulk hands, shorts...not even purple shorts at that hahaha, and green chucks.
Got a few flicks taken of me but nothing special. I only wore it for one day.
Didn't really shop in the exhibit hall but then again I didn't see anything I really liked and plus I did not have enough money to spend on such things.
I already had to pay up most of my money for sleeping on the floor for one night in a hotel.
AX is just a place to waste all your money on things buuuut THIIIINGS!!!
I suppose the highlights of that weekend would have to be the dances.
We walked...maybe 4-5 blocks to attend the AX dances where nothing but techno was played. Just danced in the cyphers with the homies and messed around. It was fun.
Out of the whole convention I only bought one thing...which is something I've been meaning to get for a while..when you see it...you'll know! ;]
So AX wasn't as hyped up as it was made to be but overall it was a fun experience.

These are the peeps I was mostly chillin' with minus Logan...and yes I told you my costume was ghetto

Stephen, Me, and Ruben chillin' at the entrance...I don't know why I uploaded this picture but DON'T I LOOK SO HAPPY! LOOK AT ME!

I don't know these people...BUT THEY THINK THEY KNOW ME!!!
Yeah that's pretty much it I guess...

Yesterday I went to the beach...a place I haven't been to in ages.
It was fun; got to swim in the ocean and fight the waves! Dig holes...look for sand crabs...try and do flips.
Ummm yeah I wanna go again but this time I wanna muhfuckin' BONFIRE!!! And roast marshmallows and stuff like that!!!
This was just a practice beach day I guess hahaha
So next time..MORE PEOPLE GO!
Then after that went to JJ's for Tony's birthday..WOOT WOOT
And after that we went to our "secret" practice spot to begin the initiation.
CONGRATS TO MATT TRAN AND RUBEN aka RUBEEROC aka RUBEAST!!! SOTO

SORRY LADIES....THEY ARE TAKEN!
You guys'll get your team shirts, jerseys, and warmup jumpsuits in the mail along with your standard issue crew medallions! lol
TIS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

Sick

Heh so yesterday I was beginning to feel a bit lightheaded and my throat started to hurt. I think teaching also made my throat more stressed.
I went to practice after work and felt a little better but when I rested my legs and what not went numb. I felt sleepy and my throat hurt more.
I went home and slept.
I woke up not feeling any better. Cold sweat all over my body, my head had a massive headache and my throat was not clear. I asked my mom if she could cover me today at work because of my symptoms. I stayed in bed resting until 4 pm and the night before I went to sleep at around 1 am.
Even when I got up, I felt lightheaded and couldn't keep balance. My body was aching from all the muscle soreness...probably from all the practice and working.
So for the whole day I just stayed home which is something I haven't done in a while.
Usually I hit up practice, work, or go hangout with the friendlies but today I just rested and I'm feeling a bit better but my throat still hurts and when I get up I still get a bit lightheaded and my legs go a bit numb.
Must've caught a cold or slight fever...aya I hate getting sick. Such a hassle and especially when you have responsibilities to uphold such as work and you have to get other people last minute to fill in for you.
I hope I get better soon, hopefully by tomorrow.
I watched "Watership Down", a film I haven't seen since I was a small child and all I remember from that movie was it being scary. Now that I watch it again, I see the tones of religion as well as tyranny, freedom, etc. Definitely check it out if you've never seen it. It's a dope movie whether or not it's a child's movie.

AX is next week, it came so fast I didn't even realize how soon it was.
I think ima just go for about 2 days since I got work and it won't be as much money. Hope it'll be fun. *shrug*

I recently saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen annnnnnnd all I gotta say is...it was iite.
If you're looking for flashy action and whatnot but nooo substance whatsoever then by all means watch it and rate it.
But if you beg the differ then I have to mention how long the movie is and how it drags. The action scenes are cool and stylish; what else can you expect from a Michael Bay film but as for the story, character development, and all the other necessary traits to make a good movie; I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Way too many characters, way too much talking, the movie draaaagged on and on and right when you reach the final conclusion, it ends in a snap...literally ends.
Of course there's going to be a third one but now I'm not looking forward it.
A lot of summer movies are letting me down, especially the ones I'm looking forward to.
Star Trek, Up, and The Hangover only delivered to my expectations. As for Terminator and Transformers 2...once again all flash but no substance.
Transformers 1 was better in my opinion.
I'm not even looking forward to G.I. Joe anymore.. beh
Surprise me.

Kollaboration 2009

So I finally got to enter a competition I've seen online since I was a freshman in high school which was "Kollaboration".
My friend Jon told me that he knew one of the organizers of the event and asked if I wanted to enter the b-boy invite battles. I was down because I felt it presented a great opportunity to expose our crew more.
A few schedule conflicts arose but in the end I was able to enter the competition.
I didn't know what to expect from this event because I've never been before but overall the atmosphere and presence was dope.
My crew and I got in for free and so did my girlfriend thanks to Mike and his free tickets ^___^
The event mainly revolved around the Hip Hop/Comedy scene.
A lot of rappers performed, Dumbfoundead is fuckin' sick live, def a dope battle MC as well as a performer. All the performances were good; a lot of dope talent on the rise.
The comedians were funny too; Kevin Shea and Gerry Bednob cracked my shit up haha.
The real treat for me was watching Drifterz/Rivers live. Shit was crazy...definitely inspiring.
As for the b-boy battles, only four crews were invited in the competition.
The stage was a bit slanted so I felt as though I was going to fall off the edge or something hahaha.
We made it to finals and got 2nd place =[
Although some may agree or disagree, it's nothing but a speed bump.
I'm used to this and all it does is push me to train harder.
Back to the lab and super fucking pumped to practice and improve!!! ^___^
Oh and I hope you are too.

Zombie Hunterz/T-Co vs. The Advent Children

Zombie Hunterz/T-Co vs. Legion of Doom

Project Soul(Drifterz/Rivers) performing.

Even doper live.
And this guy...this guy was just fuckin' amazing.

BTW none of this footage is mine.
