R.I.P. Nujabes also known as Seba Jun

So I just found out right now that one of my favorite musical artists, Nujabes passed away today.

"Seba Jun was 36 years old. An ambulance had rushed Nujabes to a hospital in Tokyo's Shibuya ward, but the live-saving efforts of the medical staff were ultimately unsuccessful.

The official website of hydeout productions has announced on Thursday that Seba Jun, the hip-hop producer better known as Nujabes, passed away due to an automobile accident in Tokyo late in the evening of February 26.

Nujabes made his professional debut in 2003 on the label compilation album first collection and his first solo album, Metaphorical Music. He composed the music in Manglobe's Samurai Champloo television anime series, including its "Battlecry" opening theme song. He had left behind some unreleased tracks in the studio, and his label plans to release those tracks on some format in the future."

=[

I remember I first heard Nujabes when I watched the anime, "Samurai Champloo" and I began to explore deeper into his music and I became addicted as he had a hybird mixture of Jazz and Hip Hop.
Nujabes is probably one of the best musical artists that lived in the world today and it's sad that it seems he's so underrated in the Hip Hop community.

If you've never heard his music then do it! It will put your mind at ease.
Some of my favorite songs from him..

RIP!

Might Mugg Additions

So it's been a long while since I've collected any Mighty Muggs...
Maybe I just lost taste for them or maybe they weren't coming out with ones that I wanted.
I actually have been meaning to collect Cyclops and Sabertooth but at the same time it was not a top priority to me.
Sadly, a lot of stores have stopped selling Mighty Muggs too...I guess the hype fell down a little bit.
BUT! As sson as I saw these two mothafuckas, I could not resist.

Hasbro has released two new Mighty Muggs: Iron Man - Mark VI and War Machine to promote the new upcoming sequel: Iron Man 2.
I can't deny how dope these two look....even if Iron Man 2 sucks *knocks on wood* I still think these are worth collecting.

...Yeah I like toys still...so what? FUCK YOU!

New Kids on the Block 5

So yesterday was my homie Fagel's event, "New Kids on the Block Numero 5!"
An annual event held once every year to promote the upcoming crews in the B-boy scene.
This year was my first year not participating in the New Kids division because I honestly feel I'm getting too old for this shit hahaha.
I've been battling in the NK Division since the first one back in 2006 so I think it's about time to let the other more promising and better kids take on the challenge.
I was originally supposed to enter with my homie Barry aka KILLA B! aka STORYTELLER! Tell em a story! in the 2 on 2's but I ended up coming to the jam too late because I had work and had to pick my friend Matt aka MATT DA ATHEIST! in Rowland Heights.
So Barry ended up battling with my other homie, Austin aka AUSTIN PHUNG! in the 2 on 2's. I felt bad but at the same time I didn't feel like battling but another part of me was like "YO STOMP THIS MOTHAFUCKA OUT!"
So came to the jam around 5 pm. Missed the first rounds of the New Kid battles and the 2 on 2's but I was just there to chill and support.
New Kid battles were pretty dope. One of my favorites to watch were "Uncomfortably Fresh" from San Deezy. They came with it, wish they made it to the finals =[
I did feel some of the judging was a bit off in the semi-finals...it's whatever though cause I wasn't the one battling hahahaha.
The 2 on 2's were cool. The final battle between KH Cali and KH Zoo was dope.
Exhibitions were cool. Mig is a fuckin' killer. Went 10 rounds and that guy didn't get phased or tired at all.
Although I would've picked a different match up, it was still a cool battle.
Overall the jam looked like it went smoothly, just chillin' with the homies, my crew! Props for those that entered and represented!
Time to train and get better and smoke these guys! LOL jk
Then after wards ate at Noodle World and had some good laughs there.
Then the battle that was supposed to happen some time ago finally went down in the parking lot of Noodle World!
Fagel aka NES vs. Yong aka YONGMONEY....RAP VERSION O_O
I'll post up the battle when I have time as well as Tony aka T-REX! vs. Matt aka MATT DA ATHEIST! Shit went down! lol

Pics and vid coming soon ;]

Chillin' in the back with my crew! Missing Danny and Socheat

Matt Da Atheist vs. T-REX!

I wanted them to battle somewhere more quiet but both wanted that shit to go down now! Haha sorry for the loud music in the back. Did some edits to make the intros more epic...lol

NES vs. YongMoney

Battling outside Noodle World...cause that's just how we do...STRAIGHT STREET!

Um yeah

RANDOM POST! RANDOM VIDEO!

Sorry I've been out of the loop for a while.
Didn't really have that much interesting stuff to post about and I was going through some shit -_-
BUT! Now that it's all pretty much dealt with I can return to whoever reads this damn thing.

...

I still don't have much stuff to update about...things are still going the same.
Living the daily grind; going to school, working every day except Sundays, sessioning here and there, just chilling, trying to focus, and stay out of trouble..
I've been going to sleep earlier which is good...except for today...it's 4:43 am O_O I don't know why I'm not tired...could be the orange iced tea -_-
But I'm usually in bed by 12 or 1 am and wake up around 7:30-8 and head off to school.
Eh today will be an exception since...I don't know...since it's Friday.

A big happy birthday shoutout to my homie Barry! Still a young tiger at heart!

If you have time check out his new clothing line!
http://proverse.com/
And if you don't have time...MAKE TIME! lol

Anyhoo...since I don't have nothing really to post I'll post a video that really helped me see the true definition of HIP HOP back in the day.
I want to share this video with you readers out there because there has been a lot of speculation as to what Hip Hop is or what it should be.
These include the elements of Hip Hop such as MCing, DJing, B-boyin' and Graff.

I forgot where I saw this video but director, Konee Rok explores the underground Hip Hop scene of Chicago, Illinois asking many different artists of Hip Hop (b-boys, MC's, DJ's, graffiti artists) what Hip Hop means to them...how do they define Hip Hop?
I love this video because within these artists...every artist has a different interpretation of what Hip Hop means to them. There is no specific definition of what Hip Hop means because each individual interprets the culture differently.
And that my friend is why Hip Hop is so universal...it's not a black or white culture that says this is how this should be and this is how that should be.
It's an open art form that evolves regularly but never forgets its roots.
Please enjoy and keep an open mind!

..My next post will be better...I HOPE T_T

...oh yeah fuck Anthony Martinez.
