Cachuma Lake 2011

So this past weekend I went on a family trip to an old familiar place I used to go to every year when I was a kid...Lake Cachuma.
I remember as a kid, my whole family would camp out at this spot and we'd always have a great time.
It's been over...5 years since I've been camping at Cachuma so when my cousins planned a trip this year I thought why not.
So Friday, my parents left in the morning and I covered the rest of the classes at work. After work, my sister and I went home to meet with my other sister and her boyfriend David.
We all meet up at the house, pack the car with our gear and make our way to the campsite leaving around 8pm.
I was pretty much sleeping the whole way there. I don't know, I felt very tired for some reason but by 10pm we finally made it to Lake Cachuma and meet up with the rest of the fam.
We actually had quite a large group. It was my family group which consisted of 7, the Brambilas (4), The Romeros (3), Uncle Jack and Dalia (2), my cousin and her mom (2), and our cousin's friends (4) so about 22 people at the campsite.
But anyway, we make our way and our tents are set up thanks to my parents.
We settle in and join everyone by the campfire. It felt nice to finally just relax and get away from all the bullshit in life. Just chillin' with family and friends.
Ate some smores and just hung out with the fam.
Went to sleep around 1:30 am...which in camping time is SUPER LATE!
But yeah. The sleep was fine, I actually feel like I could sleep on anything...so many people complain about the ground and bring cots or air mattresses which is coo but c'mon you're caaamping! Enjoy the natural hard earth for a bed.
Anyway, woke up around 7:30 because everyone started cooking breakfast. So eeeearly! But we got up and helped around. Each family prepared their own breakfast but we all shared...somewhat of a potluck.
We ate bacon strips...and bacon strips...and bacon strips...and bacon strips.
My cousin in law made french toast hahaha and everyone got in on that!
The way I saw, we only had one full day to do everything because by tomorrow we had to checkout at 2pm.
So we ate breakfast and went to a nature show which was showcasing exotic animals.
They were also have a yard sale at the nature center which had a lot of books and toys. I saw a small doll that was selling for a dollar and I found something very intriguing about it. Contemplating back and forth, I finally decided to buy the odd doll. I'll show you later.
So the kids watched the nature show which had some cute animals and then we made our way to the dock to rent a boat. There were about 19 of us so we had to rent those big boats and waited about an hour.
Then we started cruising around the lake and it was sooo dope to just feel the wind blowing across your face. Felt so freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ^_^
Came across a floating bathroom...very random indeed but we stopped by and some of the people used it hahaha.
It actually looked pretty clean haha. But anyway then we made our way back to the dock and got prepared for a hiking trail.
Yeah! We going all out today! So we start hiking and they had some dope trails. It's been a while since I've been hiking so I was very excited hahaha.
There was a trail that went about 25 miles...and I was down! Maybe not all 25 miles but as much as I could! But we returned because it started getting dark.
I biked around the area with my cousin's bicycle, just checking out the other sites and watching the sunset. Then I returned and took a nap for about an hour.
The campfire started and I sat with the others just chillin'.
Went to bed around 11:30...which in camping time is veeery late!
My full day was good! I got to do most of the things I wanted. Hike, boat, bike, fire, chill. Camping is a lot of different when you're older but nonetheless it's still one of my favorite activities to do with family or friends.
Woke up the next morning around 8ish am. Ate a small breakfast and started packing up our stuff. I undid my tent and waited for the others. It's sad that it went by so fast but overall, I had a nice relaxing time.
We left around 10:30 am and headed to a small city nearby called Solvang which is a Dutch-American tourist community. It's pretty cool, just a lot of small shops, wineries, and restaurants.
We ate at a Dutch Pancake house and that shit was boooomb. Then we all had ice cream malts...which tasted veeeery fattening hahaha whatever I'm on vacation!
Left around 3ish and got back home around 5:30. I slept pretty much the whole way home.
Finally make it back to LA and unpack all of our gear.
Then stayed home the rest of the day cause I was so exhausted. Took a shower and just chilled in my room.
Dope weekend.

A Thought.

It's been about 10 days since I've last practiced.
I guess it's okay because my wrist is still injured so it has been receiving more recovery time. We also don't have a spot anymore because USC's Spring quarter is finished. Not sure if they're going to have a spot for summer so right now we're trying to find a new practice spot.
A few places are available but nothing official yet.
My wrist is feeling a bit better but I still can't put pressure on it -____-
I feel so lazy and fat hahaha. Haven't really exercised lately. I'm usually dancing or taking TKD, or just working out at home but lately I've just been lazy or busy haha.
Needa get back on that pogo stick. Gotta keep elevating any way I can. I just hope I can do my old moves when my wrist heals up.
I haven't competed in a while either...staying in the lab until I'm ready.
I'm going camping tomorrow with the family. I haven't been camping with the family in years so I'm really looking forward to the weekend.
I hope we have a good time and there won't be any bickering between anyone. I hate that shit. I hope it doesn't rain either...that would suck mucho.

Just trying to keep this blogging consistent with real updates rather than the stupid just post a pic or take someone else' post...c'mon man!

ZOMBIE HUNTERZ BITCH lol

Peace

You Never Know

I have this song on my ipod but I never play it because it makes me sad.

One of my favorite stories though.

A-Class vs. Madness

One of my favorite battle MC's is back on beastmode, A-Class killin' it again.
I'm glad to see he's slow down his flow for the punches to hit but he still knows when to deliver his speed to package it right.

Wrist Update

It’s been about two weeks since I’ve injured my right wrist from doing flares and airchairs. There has always been a slight pain in my wrist but just enough to tolerate it.
Then one night at session my hand finally gave in and I could barely move it.
So I took a week off from practice allowing it to heal but it was still aching.
I had two options at that point: 1.) Rest and take a long hiatus from dancing to let it heal or 2.) Say fuck it and practice whatever I can do.
Of course I went with number 2 because I’m just that stubborn.
I hate getting injured because it does hold you back from your full potential but after practicing for a week with only one arm I experimented with new ideas and started training other parts of my body.
My right arm is my dominant arm in B-boyin’ which is ironic because I’m left handed. I believe my left arm possesses more strength and my right arm has more balance but I’d never do anything on my left arm until a week ago.
I started training my left arm with more poses, drops, and one handed footwork…which by the way is a pain in the ass but fun nonetheless. I can pretty much only practice moves that don’t require my right hand which is actually a majority of my moves but I’m having fun with this new learning experience.
I do feel slight improvements day by day. My mills seem faster and smoother and I’m attaining more balance in my left hand. I still miss doing flares and what not. I hope when my wrist heals, I’ll still be able to do them instead of starting from scratch but my philosophy is, if you can do it before you can do it again. Just gotta retrain the body and mind.
For example, last year when I badly injured my knee I couldn’t do footwork at all. So I started to drill flares and airchairs and soon I began to improve. Right now my focuses are mills, left handed moves, and one handed throwdowns.
I’m not sure when this injury will fully heal but I can’t let something like this stop me from doing something I love to do.

Wish me luck!

PEACE

28. A month you were happiest this year and why.

I actually don't know which month was my favorite because every month had something going on.
So far May is actually pretty good but if I were to choose I'd probably say April because there were a lot of highlights in that month.

Kid Cudi, Danny Glover, got to meet some of the Community cast, sister's b-day, a few parties, WOD: LA.

Yeah, April was pretty fun which is funny because I used to hate April when I was younger.
I remember one year, April was the toughest month for me because I got out of a relationship and some of my relatives passed away. So it was a very challenging month and since then I've always disliked it but now I guess things have changed.

But I believe runner up would be May even though this month just started. So far it's been pretty dope. This past weekend alone made me a happy boy that if the rest of the month sucked it wouldn't matter because I enjoyed that weekend. But let's hope
I don't jinx it *knocks on wood* since it's only beginning but I'm looking forward to the rest of month.

All righty...

Deuce!

25 & 27

I skipped #25!!!
25 - “10 ways to win your heart"
1. Open minded
2. Funny
3. Accept me for who I am.
4. Attractive
5. Personality
6. Fun
7. Trustworthy
8. Caring
9. Passionate
10. BE YOURSELF!

Day 27 - “Talk about your siblings”
I have two older sisters who each took part in raising me.
I feel each of us are very unique from each other but somehow we find a common ground between one other. We share a similar sense of humor and even though we bash heads, I know we all love each other and we'll always be there for each other no matter what.

SUP! WSUP!?! I don't think we look alike haha.

A short interview with myself, Tony, and Barry about our crew's history and view point on B-boyin'.

Much props to my bro, Matt Tran for putting it together!

Peace.
