Arcadia Summer Jam

August 30, 2008
What a loooong day...
I got up at about 9:20 and went to work with my mom and sister. I stayed at work until about 1ish and got some tacos on the way back home.
After lunch, I went to go pick up Gary and we headed towards the jam in Arcadia..pretty convenient since I live like 15-20 minutes away from the area. It was also like 5-10 minutes away from my girlfriend's house haha so it was cool.
The jam definitely had it's ups and downs...but overall it was all right.
Let's start with the downs...
First: It cost $8 to enter...and the 1st Place prize money is only $100...talk about expensive..especially for a beginner jam...I mean there was no exhibition or anything of that sort...just a typical b-boy competition.
Second: The judging. For some reason, the host or the people who organized the event selected 4 judges...why 4? There should always be 3 or 5 judges so that way the outcome will always be an odd decision instead of resulting in massive tie breakers.
Third: The final battle. Gary and I made it to the finals against End the Cycle(Panda & Sandy) but Sandy injured his hand during the battle before the final so he had to sit it out. We had a discussion outside the jam deciding how to run the final battle...so it was finally settled by just having Panda do 2 rounds and Gary and I get one round plus another one. It was weird..
We battled and to be honest I thought we took it and that there shouldn't have been a tie breaker. Buuut...there was a tie breaker -_- so I went one more round and lost that tie breaker.
Now I honestly didn't care about losing, I lose all the time...it's something I'm used to but it's the fact that a certain someone went back on their word when I tried to play it fair. That was some fuckin' whack shit you pulled after the jam..serious(If you don't know what I'm talking about..find out)
I'm happy that I made it to the finals but I'm not happy about how a certain someone pulled a fuckin' shady ass greedy move when I was willing to split even between everybody.
Fuck it.
Underdogs for life.
Much props and respect to all the crews that entered and supported.
And to my partner Gary for holding shit down.
I'm not gonna post the battles...partly because I'm lazy and well...I just don't give a FFFFFFFFFFFF
I need to practice.

SAN DIEGO - August 15th, 2008

So! I woke up today at 7 am 0_0 I haven't woken up that early since...I can't even remember haha. I already had my bag packed so I call up Mike and Fagel just to make sure they're awake and ready. I go and pick them up and then we get dropped off at the Metro Station in Highland Park. From there we take the metro train to the Union Station in downtown L.A. and then we buy our tickets for San Diego...which of course in German means...a Whale's Vagina...
Anyway we catch the 8:30 train which is good because originally we were supposed to go on the 9:40 train but luckily we arrived earlier than we expected.
Rode on the train for about 2 hours, it was chill. We talked, laughed, and joked. We have some exclusive interviews with the b-boys of the Zombie Hunterz crew, you can peep that on the DVD..coming soon. Haha JAYKAY! >.<
it was okay, I didn't really care.
The jam was a bit slow at first so we went to go get Yogurt and check out some of the shops in SD. Did that, then returned to the jam and more people arrived and the DJ set up his turntables. They announced the sign ups for the 2 on 2's.
Fagel and I signed up and Matt and Mike signed up also.
Our first battle was good, I thought we did very well. Matt and Mike did good as well.
Our second round...haha now this is where things got a little...tricky. Now I thought we won...I'm not usually the type to complain about losing a battle...if I think I lost then I lost. But this time I truly believe we should have taken our battle because I thought we won for sure..
I've never felt so robbed in my life..
You'll understand if you ever see the video...but yes to be honest, the outcome was unfair. But on the real, peace and respect to all the crews, they're just doing what they're doing but the judges need to keep a closer eye on things...
Anyway so we "lost" according to the judges and the final ended up being the four remaining crews taking it out in a raw cypher for 15 minutes. I'll admit it was a pretty dope concept, 15 minutes anything goes! My boys Mike and Matt came out hungry(they advanced to the finals). They did good and they got placed second *clap*
After that chilled more..rewatched the footage looking for flaws on my part...and then Matt drove us back.
Ate at Noodle World and home here I am.
It was a long and interesting day but I had fun, no doubt...except for the little mishap at the jam...*shrug*
Won't stop me from Breakin', it'll only make me stronger and know to go ALL OUT in every battle, no matter who the opponent.
Anyway pics and footage will probably be posted soon so keep a look out! 0_0

Nes and I battling first round against Charismatics

Second battle against Battle Mode..WE GOT FUCKING ROBBED!!!
No more SD jams for me.

DEUCE!

Nightshift Event - August 11, 2008

Man I haven't updated in a loooong time but then again I haven't been doing much...just been working, eating, practicing, hangin' out, maxin' and relaxin'....yeah all that shit.
This passed Saturday(August 9th) was pretty fun. In the morning I went to work, taught my little babies some HipHapkido hahahahaha...yeah did that then went and ate lunch with my mother which is something I haven't done in a long time. Drove home and got ready for the Nightshift event aka HIN. Gary, Jon and I signed up for the 1 on 1 B-boy battles, competitors got in for freeeee!!
So I went to go pick up Gary and we make our way to the Pomona Fairplex with Jon following. We get there around 3, fuckin' early cause the event actually starts at 4 but Maximum Stylez told us to get there early to get our tickets.
We park for FREE cause we're entering ^_^ and then we see Max and he gives us our wristbands and we get in the event for FREE, none of that line waitin' bullshit! Walked around the event, it was cool. Lots of cars, models, more cars, skin, and more cars.
Battles didn't start till 8 so we had 4 hours to kill. We just talked, chilled, met some new people, a booth had a DJ and a vinyl floor so we and some of the other b-boys warmed up and threw down....RENAISSANCE STYLE! haha
Got some free shit and bought a shirt with my favorite model...KT-So on it...yeah shut the fuck up! It's pretty dope. Then KT-So was at the actual event so I asked her to sign it and she diiiiid ^_^ haha. KT-So is the only import model I ever really liked...hehe. Now I can never wear the shirt...told by my friends but I probably will cause it is a pretty dope shirt...
Then the b-boy battles drew closer, we all met up near the main stage to warm up and get ready. Some b-boys from SD came(Cypher City Kings) our mortal enemies from the summer of 07...jk they're cool guys. Concrete All Stars, Zulu, some other cats I never met. All were pretty good dancers. We each had to do one showcase and the judges picked the top 16. They all call our names and we do our run.
Gary, Jon and I all make top 16. We battle, I ended up battling some...Mexican guy...I forgot his name. My round in this battle...to be honest I think I could've done a lot better and I think I could've won...I definetly know what I did wrong....and I will improve upon it. So I lost.

UGH SON!!!

And I finally got my Joker shirt haha, Ima sport that next time I go out...

Oh and Mummy 3 sucked...I'm a man of my woooooooooord...HUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
