Inside the Circle

I just saw this documentary tonight and I gotta say it was fuckin' dope.
It really goes in depth of the underground Texas b-boy scene focusing on Milky, Omar, and the B-boy City jams that annually occur every year in Austin.
One thing I liked about the movie was it caught the raw essence of B-boyin' in the LOCAL scene not really the international scene like in "Planet B-boy" and I think it stayed true to the AMERICAN lifestyle of B-boyin' and portrayed the struggles that many American b-boys face.
This was different from "Planet B-boy" because it concentrates more on the lifestyle of B-boys instead of aiming to win a huge competition like BOTY.
In the documentary, several b-boys win competitions and travel internationally but still struggle with everyday life because it shows that even if you win, you still have to train and continue getting better.
What I disliked in "Planet B-boy" was it showed Last 4 One winning BOTY and it made it seem as if they were taken care of and they never had to struggle again.
"Inside the Circle" displayed the story outside the dance floor between different dilemmas each character had to face between money, family, work, etc. and I felt I could relate to that more because that is the lifestyle of many dancers face.
Not everyone gets to travel to Europe or Asia to compete or judge so they make what they can in their city and in their country.
I feel "Planet B-boy" is aimed more towards the general audience and "Inside the Circle" was meant for those underground b-boys because anyone who's battled at jams and sacrificed so much for dancing can relate to what the characters go through.
In my humble opinion I thought "Inside the Circle" was better than "Planet B-boy" but both are amazing documentaries that positively portray B-boyin' to the highest extent.
If you are a b-boy, b-girl, or love Hip Hop or just want to see something new definitely check this DVD out.
It's actually on youtube so yeah >.> haha

PEACE!
