YOU WANT ME TO TRASH YOUR LIGHTS?!

So I finally watched the highly anticipated sequel in the Terminator series, “Terminator: Salvation”. As a child I’ve always been a big fan of the Terminator series, mainly 1 and 2, number 3...could go die but this one seemed hopeful with Christian Bale in the lead as John Connor and finally getting to see what the war was really like in the future.
The trailer is what really got me amped because everything from the special effects to the cinematography looked amazing. So I went into the theater with high hopes.
Man...it’s hard to find the words to describe this movie.
The pros of the film would have to be the CGI, the explosions, and the action scenes; basically the external shell of the movie that mindless viewers expect from an action film was top notch.
The little references to the first movies were dope too. The shotgun strap, the one-liners, John Connor’s scars, sure I get it but was that enough to make it a good movie?
Overall the movie lacked performance quality...even from Christian Bale, sad to say. Many of the actors did not deliver convincing performances that I could not find a connection with. I did not feel anything for the characters in the film because they did not have a presence to begin with. There was no character development between anyone; I didn’t even realize John Connor’s wife was pregnant until he touched her stomach. The film failed to mention these minor details and failed to allow them to grow to create content for the film.
Common cannot act...STOP HIRING FUCKING RAPPERS!
Where was Terry Crews?
You go into Skynet headquarters and only fight 2 terminators?! Cool cameo though but STILL!
“You are the resistance...this is John Connor....WHAT ARE YOU?! YOU!!! MOVE!!!” That's pretty much what comes out of Bale's mouth throughout the whole movie.
The film also seemed to be mainly centered on Sam Worthington’s character who seemed like he was the only one trying to really act in the film. Christian Bale seemed like a supporting character; not enough screen time and his appearance didn’t really make a big impact on the movie itself.
I was happy to see John Connor finally grow into the badass soldier he was born to be but I still feel he wasn’t the center of the film.
The ending seemed rushed and I felt the movie had a lot of holes.
You want to know how hard it is to judge such a film...I honestly can’t tell which was worse...this movie...or Terminator 3...yeah, sorry to say.
So maybe I was expecting too much from this movie but overall I just felt it didn’t deliver.
In my mind the Terminator franchise ended with T2. Fuck Terminator 3, Sarah Connor Chronicles -_- and ...yeah this movie.

Bleh.
This should be made into a sequel haha.
