Donald Glover x Childish Gambino Show

I finally attended the long-awaited Donald Glover/Childish Gambino concert.
I've been a fan of Donald Glover ever since his derrickcomedy videos to his stand up and "community". But I never quite got involved in his music until recently.
I bought the ticket in favor of his stand up but one night, I decided to give his tracks a try and I was actually impressed.
I liked his flow and the songs were pretty catchy. But his delivery on the tracks were getting quite redundant. (He talks a lot about his penis and girls)
Besides that, I was excited to see some of these songs live. Let's see what you got on Cudi!
So I went to work today and got off early to get home in time for Marc's arrival.
Got home around 6:30 and Tony came later. Then Marc, Josh, and Bernice arrive and we make our way to the getaway!
Got $10 parking even though the parking lots were $10 but whatever! The line was pretty long and we were dead last. Saw Michelle Truong in the line!
Finally got in and the venue was pretty dope. Everyone looked chilled. A lot of hipster looking junkies but whatever, I could mingle.
Got a draaank to loosen up and a L just incase I want to get more looooooooooooosen...ed up.
Then all of a sudden my homie Marc exclaims he sees some cast members of Community!
I turn to agree; there in my eyes lied Danny Pudi and Yvette Nicole Brown! A small crowd were already surrounding the two; fans asking for pictures.
I soon joined in the angry mob and Danny agreed to take a picture with us!
I gave the meanest thug look I could think of to make sure Danny knows who he fucks wit!
Then proceeded to the stage where the show was about to start.
Donald approaches the stage and begins his stand up comedy routine which included a lot of improv.
He then transitioned into his music set. His tracks were pretty hype but the crowd kept pretty calm.
He sure has a lot of songs talking about his wiener but that's just his swaaaag.
It was a dope show and I liked his energy.
Show ended and we proceed outside until we see....Gillian Jacobs and Yvette Brown taking pictures with fans.
Tony and I bum rushed the two and ... GOT CHA BITCH!
Gillian is beautiful.
If only my future wife, Alison Brie was there. T____T

Got some late night food at Tommy's, haven't eaten there in forever!
Feel so unhealthy now :[
MUST RESIST....TEMPTATIONS....!
And now I'm home :]

Another well night for thyself. I need to check out more shows man!

Cudi was better but! Gambino was dope too.

So exciting.

Damn you Tony!

He looks older in real life! Cool guy.

The jester doing his thang. SWAG! SWAG! SWAG!

Fuck yeah.

Day 26 - “Your religious beliefs”

My mother raised my sisters and I as Methodist Christians and she took us to church every Sunday as a child.
I was also baptized as a Christian but as I got older I began attending church less frequently. Not because I wasn't interested in religion but because the whole service was in Spanish and I did not understand a word of it haha.
I also became interested in other religions and philosophies which made me more open minded to different ideals.

I consider myself an Agnostic because I believe in different ideals that promote peace and enlightenment such as Buddhism.
Even though, I don't attend Church every Sunday that doesn't mean I don't believe in a higher power or good will.
Whether there's a God or no God, people must have a good heart and treat others right.

I'm not anti or pro religion, I'm just a guy trying to find my balance.
I don't care what God you pray to or if you don't believe in God at all, it's your personality that justifies your character.

Weekend Recap

Saturday - Celebrated my sister's 30th birthday with a 80's theme Surprise Birthday!
I dressed up like a b-boy...even though a lot of people didn't get it :[

Look I'm smiling!!!

Do we look alike?

My fam!

Sunday - Had Easter at my cousin's house and I ate too much of them brownie cupcakes...cause they're SOOOO GOOOOOOOOD.

Now I'm back on the grind: school and work. Gotta get back to dieting and exercising. Ate too much bad food over the weekend :/
My wrist is feeling a little better but I still don't think it's ready to hit the floor again. Gonna continue resting it and lightly working it out until there's no pain whatsoever.
Bought my tickets to EDC...just gotta plan transport and hotel but I'm looking forward to it.
Childish Gambino on Wednesday.
Evrything else this week...freestyle.

DEUCE!

23. Something you always think “what if…” about.

Ugh, I feel too busy to think about the “what ifs” in life.
I do what I do and I never look back on my choices because I already made it.
I consider the consequences that came from making that choice to never make that choice again but I feel like I’m wasting time if I ponder and contemplate if I did this or that. I live in the now to shape the future.

"Human After All" x #20. Five Guilty Pleasures

So lately during B-boy practices my wrist has been acting up.
Nothing too serious, it would ache whenever I’d put pressure on it but I could tolerate the pain.
I’d rest in between sessions, hoping it would heal up but at every session the same pain returned.
Tuesday’s session seemed to be the last straw and my wrist finally reached its limit. After session, I could barely move my wrist without it aching.
I guess I had to throw in the towel and accept what my body was trying to tell me.
It was time to take a full break from B-boyin’ until my wrist was fully healed.
Now a full break doesn't exactly mean no Breakin' at all. I could still toprock or practice moves with my other hand but if I want to be certain that my right wrist (my dominant hand in dancing) would heal fully then I should avoid using it at all costs.
Of course, injuries are naturally common in the art of B-boyin’ so I see this as a small speed bump through my progression in the dance. Just gotta rest it until it’s ready. I'm not sure how long it’s gonna take but I’m already on Day 3 and it still hurts as much as it did the first day.
Patience comes into play in this waiting game.
Might need to purchase a wrist brace cause this medical tape ain’t doing much to help with the pain or recovery process. I guess the tape is more of a mental boost to help me muscle through the pain whenever I move it.
Oh well. Like I said, injuries are a part of the game. You can only muscle through so much pain until your body gives you an obvious hint that you need to take it slow and let yourself rest and heal.
After all, we are only human.

and I'm still doing this stupid ass survey.

20. Five Guilty Pleasures
1. Coca Cola - I've always loved drinking coke ever since I was a kid...not exactly a good thing but it tastes so refreshing and sweet. I'm trying to cut back but every once in a while, I don't mind :]
2. Junk food - No matter how healthy I try to eat I will somehow succumb to the temptations of junk food. Whether it's fast food or snacks around the house, I love to eat.
3. Sleeping in - I usually dislike sleeping in because I feel you're wasting the day away but at the same time...my bed is soooo comfy T_T
4. Consumption - I've actually been pretty good about shopping but there are times where if I see something I want, I'll just buy on impulse. People tell me I have a lot shoes and clothes which is true but I'm pretty content on my collection and I'm actually trying to get rid of my clothes.
5. Procrastination.

PEACE

19. Something that never fails to make you feel better.

I can only say one thing?
Well out of all the other things that never fail to make me feel better: music, movies, friends, swishas, food, laughter, martial arts, exercise, partyin', drawing, writing, chillin'..

I feel dancing is probably my number one activity that always makes me feel better.
Just keeps my mind and body focused and away from all those bullshit problems we endure in life.

It is my outlet.

Kid Cudi x Chip Tha Rip

Last night I finally attended the long-awaited Kid Cudi concert at the Hollywood Palladium.
I was so hyped cause I'm a big fan of Cudi and this was my first Cudi concert.
I went with Marc, Josh, Tony, and Mike and met up with Marc's co-workers from Victoria Secret.
They already had a good spot in line so we met with them and got in pretty early.
Waited and shit was already going down.
My homie Tony and one of Marc's co-workers' Veronica were already getting into it with other people for pushing or shoving.
I was mainly the peacekeeper cause I wanted everyone to have a good time!
Things came to peaceful solution and the show finally started.
DUDE! The bass was so crazy, I could feel my jeans shake.
Cudi was simply amazing. He knows how to keep it hype and keep the crowd moving.
I ended up getting seperated from my group cause everyone kept getting pushed but I was just into the show so much I didn't care.
I was enjoying myself and just vibing to the music.
I think I enjoyed it more cause I knew most of the songs.
Besides that, everyone was pretty chill besides a few crowd surfers and pushy people...I made my stand! Spartan style! O_O
The whole place ended up smelling like sweat and weed...MY FAVORITE!
And yeah, I had a great time and it was a dope experience.

Steezy

Then afterwards went to JJ's..OF COURSE! and went home. Knocked out!
Now I'm sick, my voice is gone and my ears are still ringing.
Sick night, bitches.

Next up Childish Gambino!

WE'RE THE BEASTIE BOYS!

WDUP THO!?

18. Disrespecting Parents

As long as they're not beating you down for no reason and smoking crack in the corners then you should never disrespect the ones that brought you into the world.
I know it's tough at times because they can be frustrating to deal with but in the end of it all, they clothed you, fed you, and raised you.

Give respect to get it.

The Return of Push Circle x Mike's B-Day!

Went to school then headed to work and it was testing day for the advanced belts so I had to stay and judge. It went pretty smoothly and I got off around 9pm.
Headed to USC for session and along the way I met up with Gary.
We proceeded to the session spot and spotted Tony leaving the building. He explained he was tired and still recovering from his sickness.
We bid farewell to our fellow Zombie Hunter, Tony and continued to the practice spot.
We entered the beat filled room to greet my good friends: Socheat, Nikki, Peter, Erin, Barry, Austin, Wilson, Robert, and Robert Number 2.
We were a bit late since session usually starts around 8:30pm.
I changed my shoes and got to practicing until I noticed my wrist was still in pain whenever I put pressure on it. An injury that came from last week's session, my wrist had still not fully healed.
Just seconds later, the speakers go silent and everyone checks the status of the power cord. The speakers' batteries go dead and the outlet outside is powerless.
Just as Gary and I entered the spot, the breakbeats go dead.
With panic ensuing, Gary and myself let out a disappointed sigh.
A session with no music is like a basketball game with no ball...
But I figure, I came all the way here...might as well try something. I began practicing the halo a few times but it is still proven difficult to me. That and my wrist continued to ache in pain. Need to let it rest until next Tuesday...HEEEAL!
As time passed by it was official that music could not be played.
But not to worry as my good friend Josh came up with the idea to play a game of push circle.
A game, I've only heard about from the friends who've played and watched it.
Two warriors are pitted against one another in a small circle.
The objective? To push your opponent out by any means necessary.
Rules? No hitting of any sort and two feet must step outside of the circle for a loss.
Socheat and Josh volunteered to go first...as they are veterans in the sport of Push Circle. This was more like an exhibition.

The two masters at work. Socheat rose as the victor in this bout, claiming honor to his given name: "The Midnight Gazelle"

A second challenge was made by Gary to Marc. Marc, also a seasoned veteran in this vicious game of death accepted.
With his upper body torso strength as his ally, Gary is confident to make this debut performance an easy one. Can Marc's experience and cat like agility be enough to overcome Gary's train like power?

And the final match up are between two Push Circle Rookies making their debut challenge.
Yong Chong and Robert Oh are next on the list. Two natives of South Korea go head to head in this kingly sport.
Will Yong's technicality be enough against Robert who's built like a shit brick house?! WATCH NOW!

Lol I gotta make it more theatrical with the stories and what not.
Anyway! So that was my first time participating in Push Circle. I honestly did not know what to expect but Robert is built like a shit brick house!!!
It's hella tiring but pretty fun!
THE RETURN IS WELCOMED!

Anyway! Then packed up and left to JJ's for some good ol' fashioned Thai Iced Tea. NOM NOM NOM! Shit was gooooooooooooood. I wasn't hungry...ate 6 hotdogs in the afternoon! So I think that should have held me off the rest of the day.
Then the birthday boy made his entrance!! Coming all the way from Culture Shock practice came our very own Michael Villaster!!!

The ol' slugger got two ice creams cause he's just that special! OR! SOMEONE ELSE ORDERED AN ICE CREAM FOR HIM WITHOUT TELLING THE OTHER FRIEND WHO'S ALSO ORDERING HIM ICE CREAM THAT HE ALREADY DID!...SON OF A BITCH!
Look at this foo...fuckin' sexy dawg...I JUST WANNA FUCK THIS FOO!
...And yes ladies, he is single...but not for long. CLAIM HIS V-CARD WHILE YOU CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

But it was fun filled night with everything a man could want: push circles, women, jj's, thai iced tea, two ice creams, good laughs, and friends.

WHO THE FUCK TOOK THIS BLURRY ASS PICTURE!

- Alive and well.

The Morning Cantankerous

Ever since I could remember, I've never been a morning person.
No matter how early I go to sleep, it always takes me a long while to get out of bed. And if I do work up the strength to get up, I'll end up being grumpy most of the morning.
Despite this habit, I do hate waking up late because I feel I'm wasting the day away.
The need to pursue something productive is always an objective I must obtain.
Even if it does not benefit me through financial wealth; the feeling of striving for something constructive to my well being or financial situation always makes me feel content.
For example, work and school are two elements that benefit my budgetary direction while other activities I take part in such as dancing, martial arts, drawing or writing may not.
They say money is the motive but I beg to differ where I believe the true motive is personal development as well as spiritual gain.
Of course, you can always gain currency through your hobbies or passions but that cannot be the only goal as to why anyone aspires to improve themselves through certain endeavors.
Why do I do what I do?
A personal question that I have always pondered from time to time.
Do I have an answer?
...No.
I can't put my actions into words for someone to truly relate and understand why I pursue the life.
Perhaps the reason is to show off? To boost the overrated ego that so many people possess in today's world?
Maybe but we all know this is not true.
Perhaps the reason why I or anyone else undertakes such strenuous pursuits is to attain something money cannot buy.
The money runs deeper than paper.

Quite possibly this is the factor that pushes me to awaken every morning and perhaps the reason why I sleep so late.

17. Things that make you scared.

Big ass scary bugs like spiders.
Ghosts or ghost stories.
Heights.
The future scares me as well when I think about it.

Where will we end up and why?

I think my biggest fear is becoming the things I hate or loathe...

Day 15 - Zombie Team

Choose five movie characters that you would select to battle against a horde of zombies. List why you chose these characters and include a picture.

1. Ash Williams

The King of the B-Movies. I remember I was up late one night and I came across a movie called, "Army of Darkness" on TV. I quickly became addicted and watched the whole Evil Dead series. It was from then on I knew that Bruce Campbell's character "Ash" was a total badass.
For one thing, he has a chainsaw for a hand and a double barreled shotgun that never runs out of ammo even when going back in time. His witty charm can always brighten any situation no matter how dark and hopeless it has become.

2. The T-1000

A classic character in the Terminator franchise that completely made Arnie's T-800 look like scrap metal. The friggin' guy's made out of poly-mimetic metal or "liquid metal" so he's able to shape shift into anything he touches but it cannot take on the properties of complex machinery or chemical substances (such as explosives).
It can create knives or clubs from it's own body, flow through small gaps, and simple seal over most damage. I don't even know if he can get eaten by zombies or get infected or whatever. Plus he's a fast ass runner.
Despite having these technological advances, excessive extremes of heat (in the thousands of degrees - a few hundred doesn't bother it) or cold can do some damage to it, affecting it's ability to shape shift, and potentially destroy it.

3. Yautja aka "The Predator"

An extra-terrestrial being that is known for trophy-hunting different species for sport. Despite being seen as a vicious hunter, Predators have a sense of honor when it comes to hunting. For example, Predators do not kill individuals that pose any serious threat, although there are cases where Predators disobey the code of honor and kill any who come near. If a Predator fails to make a kill, it will usually result in an honorary suicide.
Predators have a mixed arsenal between technologically advanced to basic weaponry.
A Predator is typically equipped with a cloaking device make it almost impossible to see, a shoulder cannon, and wrist blades. In addition, some Predators also have a variety of spears, blades, net cannons, infrared vision, and throwing shurikens or discs.

4. Dae Han Park from Best of the Best

A native of South Korea who is a veteran of the martial arts. He is a vicious fighter and an ultimate badass when it comes to 1980's martial arts flicks.
He killed a man in competition and sports an eye patch over his left eye for unknown reasons.

5. Anton Chigurh

The villain from the film, "No Country for Old Men", a menacing character who brought chills to my spine whenever he had that blank stare going with his monotone voice. He's got an arsenal of weapons that include a silenced shotgun, a sub machine gun, and a compressed cattle air gun.

These would be my five. BRING IT ON BITCH

WOD: LA

All right! All right! I am back with a new post for whoever reads this crap.
First off! Happy April folks! This year is really rolling by fast but so far I'm enjoying myself sticking with the routine of school, work, B-boyin', some TKD training, and just chillin'.
I do need to focus more in school and get my shit done cause I'm laggin' it but all through time...
Anyhoo! On with today's update.
I woke up this morning at about 9am and drove to work to teach and help two kid classes which went pretty smoothly...I think >.> and then headed on over to the LA Convention Center for the annual World of Dance event.
This year it was held in my hometown, Los Angeles which was a lot convenient for me since I live and work pretty close to the area. Didn't have to drive all the way to Pomona.
Got there early and met up with my homie Tony. Ate at Yard House for lunch then migrated to the lobby where the entrance to the event was.
Got my ticket half off cause I signed up in the 2 on 2 B-boy battles.
Met up with the rest of the crew and chilled at my homie, Barry's "Proverse" booth.
Check his site out, some dope tees and accessories.
LINK: http://proverse.com/
Then went over to the B-boy section and cyphered for a little bit. Was planning on entering the 2 on 2's with my homie Austin so we were warming up and just hanging out. It was a dope vibe to just practice with everyone.
Walked around the venue as well and it seemed a lot smaller than last year's.
The b-boy battles were supposed to start at 6pm but they continued to lag the 2 on 2's until...9ish-10! Ridiculous. The whole b-boy section was disorganized and did not follow the schedule at all. By the time they reached the 2 on 2 division, I lost the juice to battle and decided to watch my homie Mike's performance with Culture Shock and cypher more.
That's just how I roll.
The exhibition battles were dope and it was cool to see a lot of people improving. I need to improve myself :[
Anyway, overall it was dope to just hangout with the crew and the homies at the event. It's always dope to get together at these events and just vibe. I don't even care about the competition anymore, I just like chillin' with my friends and other dancers. Always motivates me to get better.
My stuff did NOT get stolen this time! All in all, I liked last year's event better...besides the fact I got robbed, injured my knee, and lost in the finals BUT! last year was way more organized and just had a better vibe.
This year I felt somewhat bored, I think just cause they lagged it with the time.
5 on 5 battles, 1 on 1 all styles, 2 exhibition battles, 1 on 1 all style battles again, and then the 2 on 2 prelims...AND! A lot of this, "Are you ready? ... I can't hear you! ARE YOU READY!??!!? NAH MAN! THAT AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH! ARE YOOOOOU READY!?"
It's like fuck, shut the fuck up and start the event already man! Could've saved like 3 hours if you just got to the point. G'damn.
And this time we actually had almost all the members of ZH together besides Matt...and yet we never took a friggin' picture. DAMN!
Next time for suuuuuuuuure.
Anyway then packed up and went to JJ's and that was my day at WOD.

April is looking to be an interesting month...I hope. Just have a lot of things planned so I hope it all goes through accordingly.

PEACE!
