Culture Shock's Hip Hop Has History (H4)

So Mike, Tony, a kid named Aiden and I entered in the 4 on 4 B-boy battles at Culture Shock's Hip Hop Has History event.
The 4 on 4's required that you have to have at least one youth (18 and under) on your team. So Mike's "troop buddy" basically his little was originally supposed to battle with us but he bailed last minute so Mike asked another kid to enter with us.
I heard the kid mainly practiced Locking as his primary dance so I didn't know what to expect but whatever, I was entering for fun and just wanted to rep.
We battled in the prelims against a crew called "Sae Jin and Friends" and made Top 8 out of 14 crews.
Top 8 Battle - We battled Flava Steps and it was a pretty fun battle. I know some of the dudes in Flava Steps so it was dope to vibe.
We lost to Stylistic Kings in the semi's but it was a dope battle and I was happy we got that far with a kid on our team.
I was actually surprised we made it to the semi-finals but it's cool, it was pretty fun battling today. The whole event was pretty cool, got in for free, DIDN'T get my stuff stolen, all styles battles were pretty dope, bboy battles were dope, and so forth. Good stuff!
Tired as heck and back to the grind.

Much respect to all crews.

4. “What you wear to bed?”

I wear whatever the hell I want.
Sometimes I wear nothing at all O_O
But in all seriousness, I usually just wear some pajamas, a shirt, boxers, and maybe some socks if it gets cold enough.

Yep that's it...I know this wasn't too interesting but I don't control the questions man! I just answer em...I just answer em.

A blast from the past...

My sister posted some old pictures from way back when haha.

My sisters and I with our beloved grandpa who sadly passed away when I was in...1st grade? I do miss him.

With the cousins and my grandma! I don't know when this was...but damn everyone looks so young!

Damn...I was chubby as a kid hahaha. I remember my father said, "You're getting big."
and I replied, "I'm a growing child." and he answered with, "You're growing sideways though not up." LOL

I think I was always a weird kid..

With the sis on Christmas eve...I look like every other Korean kid at that age haha

At one of my birthday parties...Look it's Chris Wu with the glasses!!! We were pretty ugly kids!

Now the transformation has begun. I believe I was in 7th grade during the time of this picture. I got the slick back spiked hair..straight thuggin' lol

Fuckin' dapper! I think this was the night of the 7th grade Winterformal..good times haha

Seeing these pics bring back some good memories :]

3. “What kind of person appeals to me”

Well looks is something that catches the eye but when it comes to appeal, there has to be something more beyond that.
I love attractive girls but at the same time, I dislike a girl who tries tooo hard to look like something she's not.
For example, I dislike girls that wear bright red lipstick...especially on Asian girls...I don't know...it just doesn't look natural to me.
A little makeup doesn't hurt but if it comes to almost looking like a clown or something that's where I have to put my foot down.
Same goes for the way they dress. Girls that tend to wear skanky ass clothing can be appealing to the eye but at the same time it makes me wonder what kind of person she is and what her motives are for tonight hahaha.

ANYWAY! I guess to break it down to the bare bone.
I like...
- Chill girls who stay true to themselves and don't try too hard.
- A girl that accepts me for me, not for my wallet.
- A girl who wants to hangout even if we're both broke, fat, and ugly.
- A girl with passions or hobbies!
- Has a sense of humor and is able to make me laugh. A +++ for this one!
- Easy going
- Dorky so that way I have someone to be dorky with >.<
- Fun to be around whether it's just me and her or her, me, and my friends, or her, me and her friends. Someone who can just lighten the mood.
- OH and did I mention she's gotta be HAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWT?!?! With a big ol' booty?!

JK...sorta >_>

Kevin Hart's "Laugh at my pain"

So last night, I got the chance to see one of my favorite comedians live at the Nokia Theater thanks to my good friend Darlon.
We got close ass seats; like 5 rows away from the stage so other celebs were sitting up front too like Nelly, Taraji P. Henson, and some other athletes.

The whole theater filling up..big ass theater. Take that balcony bitches!

The man himself filming his new DVD, "Laugh at my Pain".
Kevin Hart was pretty fuckin' funny and I'm glad he's coming out with new material.
He can turn any sad situation such as his mom dying or his divorce into comedic scenarios. It was awesome watching him live.
Only con of the show was I had to sit next to this annoying ass guy with the most white obnoxious laugh. Seriously, I didn't know white people laughed so weird but this guy was the champ of them all.

Yep. Fun times.

PEACE!

Sound Test 1 aka GHOST FIGHT!

Decided to try and add some new sound effects I had to rip from a Kung Fu short on a video I could edit myself.
I'm using myself as a prop to see if these sounds are accurate and realistic.
None of the voices are of my own.
For better quality, watch in HQ.

Yong Ill

Being sick is like being stuck in a shitty time machine.
It's only been a weekend but I already feel so lost with the time.
Need to take better care of myself.

2. How have you changed in the last 2 years?

To be honest, I haven’t changed much because I’ve felt like I’ve always been honest about who I am and what I do. People always go through these drastic changes because they realize they’re something they’re not but I’ve felt like I found my true identity years ago.
Things and other people around me have changed but I feel I remain to be the person I truly am. The changes around me would be that I’m currently single, I attend a different school, I earned my 2nd Degree Black belt in the martial arts; a goal I’ve been wanting to attain since 2004, I feel like I’ve improved in dancing but I still have much more to learn, I was granted a raise at work ^_^, I work 6 days a week now, I got my braces off, and I got a new car. These are the external or physical changes that occured in my life through the past 2 years.
But I also went through many internal realizations about the people I know and the people I could "trust". I see that I need to pick and choose my friends more carefully because a lot of people out there are shady and willing to stab you in the back for the sake of shit. Even the closest people are capable of betrayal and I would know because I've experienced this shit personally. So let's just say I'm more aware about people and not as trustworthy as I once was.
It is sad but true but through experience I've realized that the person you thought you knew can turn out to be someone you didn't know at all.
I now never claim I know a person no matter how long we've been acquaintances because each individual out there is prone to change for better or worse.
In summary, I pretty much don't care anymore about people that don't apply to my life.
I have a small circle of friends, I'm not with different crews, and I'm not as easily surprised as I once was when people's true colors show.
I guess that's the biggest change but I myself really haven't changed.
I'm just doing me.
It's others that change that make me become more perceptive about their true identity.

And don't claim you know me either because I might just go and change as well.

1 of 30

A first of thirty for 2011.
Just to keep my blogging more consistent just incase I don't have anything to write about. Perhaps these questions will make me wonder what my true outlooks in life are.
Either way, I'll probably just post these entries out of boredom.

So here we go!
The first question: "Weird things you do when you are alone."
Hmmm I wonder if anything I do is considered "weird", I guess to certain people the things I do may be considered weird or normal.
Pretty much when I'm alone, I tend to let my imagination run wild and try to keep myself doing something productive.
1. I love to draw. Ever since I was a kid, I'd love to draw. Even if I'm not good at it, I'd draw my own characters and make my own comics with ninjas, zombies, soldiers, Kung Fu hitmen, and so forth. I even draw little stick figure men fighting and beating the crap out of each other.
Drawing soon led to "tagging" if my style of tag is even considered graffiti or tag but it did pass the time by. I remember in high school, a lot of people asked me to do pieces for them. So if I get to that level of boredom, I start to tag out certain words for fun.

A recent piece I made out of boredom. If you can read it, cool.
Also, I love to draw designs I can print on t-shirts or clothes.

2. Writing
I love to write. I tend to write stories that I hope to make into short films one day, lyrics or poetry that include battle raps or actual songs that will never be made, random thoughts going through my head about what's going on in my life or what I'm thinking about, or b-boy moves that I want to create or work on.

3. Dancing
Even when I'm by myself, I love to dance and work on certain moves. I have limited space in my room and house so it's hard to go all out with the dancing but even small moves or freezes, I try to perfect.
Sometimes I just put on a good break and just dance all night in front of a mirror.

4. Exercising
I'm sure this isn't a weird thing to do because I'm sure countless people tend to exercise out of boredom. Although I should do it more than usual, I like to workout in my room. My routine consists of abs, light weight lifting, cardio, and stretching. Sometimes I go out for a jog as well.

5. Movies
I watch movies on a daily basis.
I love comedies, kung fu flicks, action movies and so forth. Anything to keep me entertained. I can watch a movie over and over memorizing the lines of the characters and reciting them at random times with my friends.

6. Cleaning
If my room is a mess which it usually is, I get in the habit of cleaning my room and doing my laundry. I'm very specific when it comes to my laundry because I like to wash and dry my clothes a certain way.

7. Edit videos
I like to edit videos I shoot on my computer making short trailers, dance demos, or just random funny little skits.

8. Graphic design
I can't do shit on photoshop or illustrator. I make a lot of designs on paint that I clean up on ps and try to make on clothes. Fun.

Yep.
